Your Privacy

We recognize that when you choose to provide us with information about yourself, you trust us to act in a responsible manner. That's why we have adopted a policy regarding how we collect, use and protect your personal information (“Privacy Policy”).

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and part of the Terms of Use, found at www.chicagoresidential.com, under “Terms of Use”, that govern your access to and use of the Website, including any content and services offered on or through the Website. By using the Website, you agree to be bound by our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

What Information Do We Collect? How Do We Use It?

At times we may request that you voluntarily supply us with personal information.  Generally this information is requested when you register for an online service, when you provide information in connection with an online transaction or when you contact us in relation to the Website or our services. When you submit personally identifiable information to us, you understand that you are agreeing to allow us to access, store, and use that information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

We may gather information about you when you register with us.  We may ask for information such as your name, email address, password, company/employer, role in company, sector of interest and location(s) of interest.  We keep a record of this information. This is necessary for us to recognize you as a registered Website user. We may keep a record of your preferences so that we can tailor our offers and services to you.  Once you have registered, you may join any discussion forums we may have and we may hold information about you gathered from your use of such discussion forums. When you enter a competition, register for a client event, other promotional event or any similar occurrence, we may ask for your name, address, telephone number and email address so we can administer the event.  If you choose to give us personal information via the Website that we or our affiliates or business partners may need, for example, to correspond with you, we will use such information to do so. If you tell us that you do not wish to have this information used as a basis for further contact with you, we will respect your wishes. We will use your personal details and information we obtain from other sources to provide you with information about our services, for administration and customer services, for marketing, for providing the products and services you request, to generate statistical studies, for conducting research, improving products and services, sending you surveys, and notifying you of new products and services and any other changes to our site or services that may affect you, and to ensure that the content, services and advertising that we offer are tailored to your needs and interests.  We may keep your information for a reasonable period of time for these purposes. We may need to share your information with our affiliates, service providers and agents for these purposes. We may disclose personal data in order to comply with any applicable law, order of a court or of any supervisory, governmental or regulatory body, in or outside your country of residence, and we may also release information to law enforcement agencies or other third parties if we feel it is necessary to protect the safety or welfare of our personnel or to enforce our Terms of Use. We may also disclose personal data in the event of a merger, sale or reorganization where we are required to transfer personal information to a third party involved in such process. We intend to continue improving the content and function of the Website. For this reason, we may monitor customer traffic patterns and Website usage to help us improve the design and layout of the Website and provide content of interest to you.

Use of Cookies, Web Beacons, and Other Devices

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer and are commonly used on the internet. There are various types of cookies which perform different functions, such as analyzing a user's browsing behavior or recording a user's navigation of a website so that when a user revisits that site, the site owner can present tailored options to the user based on the stored information about previous visits.  We may use cookies to implement and remember user preferences, to monitor site user traffic and usage, to identify you as a valid user, to ensure that no one else can sign on simultaneously with your account from another computer, to collect information that will help us to distinguish visitors, to implement language preferences on the Website, to compile statistical reports on Website activity through analytics cookies, e.g., numbers of visitors and the pages they visit, to help us serve you better based on your registration preferences and to improve users’ experiences.  We may also use cookies to help us facilitate any promotions or surveys that we provide. All of this helps use to understand how visitors use the Website so that we can develop and improve the design, layout and functionality of the Website. Most web browsers will accept cookies, but if you would prefer that we did not collect data by this method, you can disable this function within your browser settings. If you do so, however, this may limit the functionality we can provide you when you visit the Website. You may also set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie.

We sometimes use cookies, as well as tracking technology, such as web beacons, within promotional emails that we may send to our subscribers or advertisements for the Website.  These performance tracking devices help us to track whether an email recipient has completed an event, such as signing up for a free trial, for example. Such information is non-personally identifying and collected on an aggregate level.  We sometimes utilize third party service providers to help us track the activity within the Website. These third parties may use temporary cookies and/or web beaconing technology to facilitate such tracking but the data would not be tracked in a personally identifiable way.  Third parties whose products or services are accessible on the Website may also use cookies. Some of these third parties may share certain information that you provide to them with us. By clicking on and through to a link or promotion on the Website, you agree to allow us to receive and use any information (except for credit card information) that you may provide to such third parties, under the same terms and conditions as if you provided your information directly to us.  We do not control, and are not responsible, for any other website, or their respective privacy policy or how they treat information about their users. We strongly advise you to review their privacy policies to find out how they are treating your personal information.

How Do We Use Your Information For Marketing?

We may share your information with our affiliates and with our business partners for marketing purposes or we may send you information about other organizations' goods and/or services.  We or any business partners may contact you, directly or via our agents, by mail, telephone, fax, email, SMS or other electronic messaging service with offers of goods and/or services or information that may be of interest to you.  By providing us with your fax number, telephone number or email address you consent to being contacted by these methods for these purposes. If you do not wish to receive marketing information either from us or our business partners please indicate this where requested on the registration or contact form or contact us directly.

Your Consent and Other People's Information

By providing us with your personal information, you agree that you fully understand, agree and unambiguously consent to our processing your personal data, including sensitive personal data, for the above purposes.  You also fully understand, agree and unambiguously consent to our transferring your information to us or our affiliates and service providers in the United States and other countries or jurisdictions which may not provide the same level of data protection as the country in which you are based if necessary for the above purposes.  If you object to your personal information being transferred or used in this manner please do not register with or use the Website. If we do make such a transfer to our third party service providers, we or they will, if we or they deem it appropriate, put a contract in place to ensure that your information is protected. If you provide us with information about another person you confirm that they have appointed you to act for them, to consent to the processing of their personal data including sensitive personal data and that you have informed them of our identity and the purposes (as set out above) for which their personal data will be processed.  When we first contact them we may tell them where we got their information.

How Do We Protect Your Information?

We offer the use of a secure server and Secure Socket Layers (SSL) encryption technology to protect your information, and we use procedures designed to protect the personal information we collect from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification or disclosure.  Although we will take commercially reasonable security precautions regarding your personal information collected from and stored on the Website, given the open nature of the internet, we cannot guarantee that any of your personal information stored on our servers, or transmitted to or from a user, will be free from unauthorized access, and we disclaim any liability for any theft or loss of, unauthorized access or damage to, or interception of any data or communications.  By using the Website, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks, and you accept the inherent risks in doing so, as well as the risks of information corruption, viruses or other harmful devices.
